I don't know if the NCAA will reinstate him but at least one place all ready wants him. An A&M school no less, who ever posted futere aggy may have got it right.

It will be much better if he could play for Texas State University Bobcats. That school played good football lately.

I fully expected to find a picture of a halfway house.

I don't believe he has been declared ineligible by the NCAA, so he wouldn't have to 'reinstated'. Do the rules say he has to sit out a year? I know that happens if you transfer, but what if you're kicked the team?

It the kid doesn't start using his head.

Good lord, he didn't steal a TV or something!

Anyway, looks like my earlier statement about reinstatement was wrong...

Erik Christianson, a spokesman for the NCAA, said student-athletes who are declared ineligible by their schools can't participate in intercollegiate athletics at another school without first seeking reinstatement. Christianson said the rules cover NCAA Division I-A, I-AA, II and III schools.

I hope he learns from this and becomes a productive adult. As for his football career I wish him no luck. He has screwed us big time. I hope we overcome it.

A friend from the town I grew up in told me the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas have contacted OU about him. They always employ a run/pass QB and are a really, really good Division 2 football school. They have won 7 National Championships and sent several players to the NFL including Darrell Green, Gene Upshaw and Johnny Bailey to name a few.

I thought he'd have to go down to NAIA but I heard on the radio today he might be able to play Division 2. Then again he may have to sit out an entire year.

Does anyone know if he has even been released from his scholarship yet? He can not do anything until OU does that. The reason I am asking is whether or not he is going to leave or just hangout and go to school until next season and then be a Sooner again. That is the same thing that Dusty did. Kicked off the team but shown enough change that he was re instated the next year. Could this be the scenario for Bomar?

I've been to a few http://www.teamline.cc/images/logos/TAMUK.gif games.

That's Mrs. pb4ou's alma matter. Plus I used to live there in Kingsville. :O

I liked it when they would throw tortillas on the field after a TD. Heh

I grew up there. I lived right down the street from the stadium and saw them win many, many games. I remember in the early 80s OU beat Hawaii by 3 or 4 points. Texas A&I (I still call them that) beat Hawaii that same year 49-0. They were really good. When did you live there?

sounds like bob meant forever when he said permanent. i don't know how i'd feel about it even if he could come back. i've been talking a lot of smack about this kid.

AND, any team that he is eligible to play for, whether it be NAIA or D-II, will in NO WAY prepare him for as successful a career as he could of had. and that's the way i like it. i hope he ends up with a joey harrington NFL career--a complete bust.

oh, and the new catch phrase among a few fans at practice on friday was "nomar bomar"--i kinda like it. T-shirts?
