For those of you with newer cars, what is the highest recent reading you've seen on your temperature gage? I think mine was 112 one day, yet the outside temp was only 104 or some crap like that; i think the weathermen are afraid to tell us how hot it really is outside. :hot:

I had a 118. That proved that buying an all-black car inside and out was a dumb idea.

You may want to get that guage checked. I think that the thing is off a bit. :D
121. In Death Valley a couple weeks ago. It was 5:00p.m., so I think it was over about 6 degrees.
Still pretty hot, though.
When we lived in Phoenix, our would read in the 130's on a regular basis.
i think the highest i have seen is 120?

The vase itself was melting.

I think the standard measure for outside temperature is in the shade. Sunlight actually distorts the reading on most thermometers and makes them indicate higher than actual temperature. I don't know maybe md would know.

There's a reason official temperature readings aren't taken from a thermometer attached to a metal object that's been left in the sun.

well, what is it?
tease.
that's like Bob coming out and saying "there's a reason that Bomar has been dismissed from the team" and then walking off.
My wife's black car has been reading 120's until we get moving.
My 2004 car doesn't even have a thermometer. Or a compass. :(

well, what is it?
Car thermometers measure the temperature of the car, not the air--especially when the car isn't moving.

109 yesterday, but it really wasn't that bad to me. I don't miss the humidity at all. :D
