Just found out that we are going to get some of these bad boys in the initial release. I have never owned a good gaming system but I do believe that I will be unable to resist this at cost. Happy pants dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Unless Sony has changed the way they do their pricing, the game console is sold at pretty close to cost. Its the accesorries/games where the margin is. So you might not be getting as much of a discount as you think.

Sony is losing $100 per unit sold, so the actual manufacturing price is about $700. I doubt they'll throw in at cost.

On the other hand, I most likely have to stay allnighter in Walmart to get one of these babies.

I'd love to get a PS3 . . . but I don't think I can justify spending that much money on one.
