for el ced.

channel 5 news in chicago runs a story about benson not being a "team player" or some something to that effect and then show scenes of urlacher azz planting benson. tommie dragging him down from behind the line of scrimmage and then some jawwing going on between benson and a few of the dbacks. all of this took place in practice but they interviewed orton and all he could talk about was thomas jones' contribution as the number one running back and the receivers not a word on the "franchise" runningback.....
as the story went on, they showed benson sitting on the sidelines by himself

don't know......

he held out for waaaay too long last year. i said it every day he held out. you jack with a town like chicago, the fans, players and coaches will be in your *** to be a superstar. if you aren't, god help ya. you reap what you sow young cedric.....you reap what you sow.

Let's be honest. We all knew Ced was an average back on a really good team at UT. So he hit 1k for four years...big whoop. AD will probably pass him in three. He was a "lifetime achivement" doak winner, not a "Wow, what a superstar" winner. We could see this coming.

In Benson's career he never did anything against good teams.

I never thought Benson was any good. Just another back in the line of failed Bears RBs in the past 15 years or so.

Yeah, we need OUr Sooners (Bears) to hold off for a year so they can get A.D. as their first-round draft pick!!!

Then they'd have 2 Adrian Petersons!

So going for over 141+ yards in 10/11 regular season games and 92 against ya'll was impressive in 2004?

Or going for 130+ 7/11 games in 2003 (with 283 vs. A&M) is a snoozer?

AD had more rushing yards against Texas in 2004 (225) than Benson did in his entire career in the OU/Texas game.

If you look at the top defenses he didn't do well against many of em. And A&M has no run defense and hasn't had one for about 5 years or more. In 2003 Hickson and Kejuan Jones OU's backup running backs both went for over 100 yards. I think Paul Thompson also had 90.

Kind of weird, not exactly what I've been reading concerning the Bears...

Workhorse Benson gaining measure of respect (http://bears.hosttown.com/index.php?showtopic=126694)

Seems like the D was popping him pretty good the first day or two, probably to make up for what he should have gotten his rookie training camp.

Gotta say, Bear's fans have done a 180 on him since last year. Now Jones is the money grubbing bad guy.

I have to give CB some credit, he did a good job at UT, especially having to live in the shadow of Ricky. Plus, he never beat OU. That being said, he really hasn't proven his worth in the NFL. The Bears need to trade him to Detroit for Teddy.
