Okay, most places come in really clear but then in certain parts of the country it just gets really blurry and nothing comes in focus?

because they do different levels of detail depending on the population of that area.

um, while that is logical i've seen heavily populated areas not being detailed.

well then we know its becuase google does nothing but tip their hats to the chinese so they are hiding the secret chinese nuc-lar weapons in heavily populated areas that google found out about but is hiding from the federal government.

Can't blame 'em.

They recently updated the Norman area and I guess the day they took the pictures it was really cloudy on the southwest part of town. The images pretty much suck right now.

You want to hear about government conspiracy... WHY ARE THE CLOUDS AFRAID TO CROSS MAIN STREET OR FLOOD?

Google finally got images of Muskogee up but they cut off at the river like 4 miles from my house. DOH!

Yeah unfortunately if the images are too close to certain military installations, they won't show a clear image. And they have a very fat radius. This is too bad because it means that huge chunks of Pensacola, Florida are blurry, where most of my family lives.

Area 51 comes in pretty clear, UFOs and all.

I was able to use the Microsoft Beta of their service to figure out what hotel I stayed in the last time I went to OU/Texass.

I could read the name on the front of the hotel.

I could see where the tractor had plowed the food plot I put in on my deer lease using google.

On Google Maps, you can see the fresh dirt where I buried that hooker.

For what I pay for Google Earth, they should update that thing with fresh satellite imagery on a daily basis, if not sooner.

I tried to Find W's ranch in Crawford.

I failed. Wikipedia has the lat/long, but no address.

jeremy885
7/31/2006, 03:40 PM
Try using the address of Looney Shennan's place (the one she just bought). W's is suppose to close by.

Hamhock
7/31/2006, 03:50 PM
great idea!

What's that address?

jeremy885
7/31/2006, 04:11 PM
Try one of the news stories about it. I'm assuming that would be easier to get then W's. Didn't SicEm or TDTW say they went there recently to hang out with the hippies? One of them should know.

SicEmBaylor

I've been out to W's ranch on many occasions for volunteer work and other stuff. If you need directions then I'd be more than happy to let you know.

In fact, let me see if I can just pull it up on Google Earth myself.

Muskogee?

You didn't get your bug drivin', zima drinkin', loafer wearin' tendencies in Muskogee.

Well, Im talking about pulling up Bush's ranch in Crawford which I can't do because there aren't any high-res photos of Crawford. I can still give directions though.

And no, I aquired all of that on my own plus some help from the greatness of Baylor.

SicEmBaylor

The problem is, I'm not sure there technically is an address.

Let me find a street map of Crawford and then I'll "follow it" to the general address.

I could see the AWACS (from sometime) at Tinker.

You can see B-1 bombers on the tarmac at Tinker as well.

Can anyone get a good clear shot of the Cryptology base in Pensacola? If so, then maybe my Google is broken and just won't show that area or the surrounding neighborhoods because of a glitch.

The Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor is pretty cool, if you like to look at sunken ships and stuff.

You can zoom in an aicraft carrier and a bunch of amphibious assault ships in San Diego Bay. You can also zoom in all the way on Whiteman AFB, home of the B-2. They don't keep those bad boys out in the open, of course.
