A couple of weeks ago. Yes I was major detractor of the place.

Factors that determined location for this short getaway -
1. Short Drive
2. Free condo use courtesy of my parents

Wednesday - hot - departure day, stopped at Fantastic Caverns (http://www.fantasticcaverns.com/) which is north of Springfield. 60 degrees in the cavern.

The drive from Springfield to Branson is full of gigantic billboards advertising the shows. We went ahead and drove across "the strip". It looks like they're doing a great job with their hillbilly Vegas.

Thursday - hot - Rode the duck (http://www.bransonducks.com/experience-fun/equipment.asp), Branson Landing (http://www.bransonlanding.com/).

Branson Landing just opened this year. Shops, hotels, food, free parking garage. The first time I've seen a NASCAR store.

Friday - hot - Dinosaur Canyon Golf, Tanger Outlet Mall, swimming pool

Saturday, Sunday - warm - Silver Dollar City (http://www.bransonsilverdollarcity.com/). They recently added an area (http://www.bransonsilverdollarcity.com/rides-attractions/ride_detail.aspx?AttractionID=560) with 10 rides geared towards people on the wee side. The girls got to ride rides and had a blast. I rode some them with them. The lines were minimal. This section had just opened this year. It wouldn't have been near as much fun without it. The kids also enjoyed the water park part.

I'd do it again with the kids. As a destination for just the wife and me, not so much. I have zero interest in the shows and theme parks. But the kids had great time and it was very relaxing.

And that's a cute kid man. Raise her well and teach her to have more class than is typical with her gender.

I had a telemarketer call my cell phone the other day(how they got my number? I have no clue.)
Conversation,
Telemarketer: It says here on the form you filled out you wanted info on our vacation packages.
Mongo: I never filled out a form.
TM: Yes you did sir, you filled it out at Bass Pro Shop.
Mongo: I never filled anything out at Bass Pro.
TM: Yes you did sir. You requested vacaton info for a trip to Branson, MO.
Mongo: Now I now this aint true, I would never request info for a trip to Branson because I have no desire to go to Branson. Ever.
(Laughter in background errupts)
TM: Well sir, we have many packages available(laughter still going on)...
Mongo: Thanks anyway, CLICK.

Dropped by there on my way through. Curator showed me the sketches for the planned "Stunned SicEm" exhibit...(not) coming (any time) soon.
He played a bit of the exhibit's background tune...
"Where, oh wherrrrre, are yew tewnight? Why did yew leave me here all alone...Yew met another and PFFFT yew wuz gawn."
Oughta be a big hit in a sad sorta way.

4 & 1

I'd say maybe up to 8 or so, but that's a guess.

Check the link.

I did notice they finished building that Titanic exhibit. I didn't go inside, so I can't vouch for it. But when that Titanic exhibit was moving around the country I went to see it in Memphis and it was great.

I did take myself over to that Stone Hill winery for a wine tasting. This is wine made in Missouri so take that for what you will, but I ended up buying a bottle of their port.

Mine were 9 & 7, and they both loved the kid's area. The 9 year old did get to ride some coasters with me as well, so he had child and adult fun.

We didn't. We did eat at Dana's (sp). I think that's the only "local" eatery we ate at.
