Well I'm reading about AD's goals for the 2006 season - 2000 plus yards rushing - 500 pass yards - etc. So I was wondering "IF" our Defense has some Goals for the 2006 Season...??

In case they Don't...???
Here's my suggestion List....

Defense Goals For the 2006 Season

*At least 4 games that are complete shut outs....
*3 games with no more than 7 points scored.
*Three kickoff returns for Touchdowns during the season
*Five punt returns for Touchdowns during the season
*An average of 2.3 pass interceptions per game
*Get the ball to our Offense between the 40 & 50 yard line - 3 times a game.
*No touch down runs over 25 yards...
*No passing touchdowns over 30 yards...
*Lead the Nation in Safties --- (7 or 8 would be good)
*Lead the Nation in Blocked Field Goals -- ( 7 or 8 still sounds Good)
*Lead the Nation in QB Sacks...(what ever it takes)
*Lead the Nation in Total Defense...!!!

:) OR ---- Forget all of the Above - and just beat all other teams 54 to 0

Rock ON...!!!

Ah, yes... another Saturday night where we have to wait until clubs open instead of going out for games. Damn this off-season!!!

I'm gonna add a goal to the list. I want at least 3 players knocked completely OUT this season!!!! Just like that poor bastard at last years Tulsa game. Ah priceless!!!!

i think 4-5 games with the opposing offense getting less than 100 total yards would be hella sweet.

Have we had 4 shutouts since 2000?

Shutouts are hard to get. 2001 team got maybe 1 shutout and that's the best defense Stoops has had.

Here's what I could come up with.

2001 and 2002 we shut out Tulsa both years.

We shut out UTEP in 2002 60-0 or something like that.

2003 Texas A&M 77-0

2004 Texas 12-0

There may be one more. But it still makes my point valad. We have averaged maybe 1 shutout a year from 2000-2005

Help us win a National Title. That should be the goal.

i wouldn't concentrate so hard on the numbers. as long as our d-line pressures the opposing quarterback and our secondary plays well we should be pretty good.

42 INT's and 13 of them returned for touchdowns. anything less will not be tolerated

The last one should be the goal of the defense, and ironically it is not the hardest thing on the list.
