Turnberry is a great golf course. it can't be stretched enough to accomodate today's young'un's with the new technology.....but it's friggin incredible.

holes 3-11 are among the best in the world and comparable to Pebble Beach in terms of seaside rocky beauty.

Is the Senior Open over? I've been gone since Friday and haven't been paying any attention to golf.

there's tape delay coverage starting here in CO. at 12 MST. so, the answer is yes and no.

i'm gonna watch (don't know who won).

too bad, doesn't look like we'll get to see the front 9 holes....which all play between high dunes along the coast mostly. 10 and 11 are serious big boy driving holes with the tee out on an outcrop and you whack it across the water and rocky terrain to sideways running fairway. the back is more inland and also a flatter part of the terrain that was used as a landing strip/runway in WW II. 15, 16, 17 are all good holes. 18 is unspectacular, but maybe they'll show the Nicklaus/Watson finish from 77.

doesn't look like anyone wants to win this. Romero and Roberts both bogey 16.

Roberts gets a favorable bounce off the tee at 17 or he's in the ankle deep stuff.

with the 100+ heat we have right now, those cool temps look rather inviting.

Roberts has patty-caked a couple putts here coming in. he left about a 15 footer right in the mouth of the hole earlier and just fanned a 10 footer for birdie *and the lead* on the weak side of the hole at 17.

I've always thought he was a crappy putter. ;)

another semi-lucky pulled tee ball for Roberts. just misses the deep stuff and a bunker.

hey Turk, i don't have the sound on.....have they said anything about what the R&A playoff format is for the Senior Open?

that was not a very good shot by Romero.

I have only been paying half-assed attention to the telecast. I've been messing with vacation photos.

Hate to see the tournament end the way it did. I've switched over to the regular tour telecast. I'll be pulling for Pavin - I always liked the way he was a shot-maker.

Roberts finally hits a putt, and guess what? it went in.
