Well, see..I sent this rather nasty message asking for an explanation to her via myspace and it has been "read" by her but not replied. If she replies or if I ever get an explanation from her then it'll be posted.

the girl did something that is normally a guy behavior, and all the guys are surprised that a girl would do something like that and they are offended. it cracks me up

It doesn't make it right on either end. Not calling someone just because they want to avoid the issue (guy or girl) is chicken s***. In my experience though it is girls who the ones that tend to avoidance rather than meeting an issue head on. This whole thing could have been easily avoided with a simple I think it is too early on her part.

I agree with everything except...I don't think girls avoid these things any more than guys do. I know plenty of guys who just say what a girl wants to hear and then just stop calling or act badly so the girls just finally give up. it goes both ways.

let me get this straight.....you're 23, you were in a 5 year relationship with some girl that was your world.......which means it started when you were 18?

has there been any separation between that love affair and the branson girl?

You are probably right. Most of my friends are engineers, and I guess we just felt lucky to have a date  , so we treated women a bit better.

I got back at the evil female race for you last night Sic.

Went to Sambuca in Addison.. having a martini.. smoking on a cigar... listening to some music... strike up a conversation with an attractive woman next to me. Time goes by, convo heats up, she suggests that we adjourn to a more intimate setting.

It was at that point when I thought of you me Lad, and I said.. "Sorry, I won't let you stand me up when we have a trip planned to Branson!"

And. I turned her down.

I figured that makes everything even in the end.

You're Welcome.

It ain't really "getting back at chicks" when you don't really dig them in the first place, is it?

No straight male would be caught "sipping a martini, sucking on a cigar."

Nah, Thinking about all the bad things you could do to her is more fun and helps draw the hurt off. Now if Sic'em has anythgin of hers like a pic or some personal item, then he could hold it hostage or set up a burn festival. Good therapy! ;)

SicEm,

This thread has it all, laughter, tears, pathos, hilarity, etc. But...
I urge you to drop the whole matter, cut your losses, absorb the lessons to be learned thereby. STOP calling, E-mailing, carrier-pigeoning, smoke-signalling, communicating via telepathy, the young lady.
If you don't you may soon find a constable at your door with, at best, a restraining order; at worst, an arrest warrant for stalking and/or harassment.
Consider this: You will, I assume, be resuming your collegiate career in the next few weeks. If, Zeus forbid, this girl is a Baylor coed, or even just dwells within the boundaries of (semi-)beautiful Waco, your life may soon be far worse than you currently hallucinate it to be.
How will you know that "the word is out"? When you walk into your first session of "Christian Relationships 101" and the entire assemblage laughs, points, or hurls invective at you...well.
Nightmare Two: You slink into the combo Starbucks/Scripture Stall and there she is. She screams, runs into the night and leaves you to confront Brutus, her true love. You remember him, the one with one big eye and a tusk.
Time to back away hastily, my boy. Time to back away.

Women never want to "hurt your feelings", even if the alternative--dicking you around until you go away on your own--is worse. Plus, if they do it this way they can absolve themselves of guilt because it's your fault you didn't read the signs. I imagine they get together with their girlfriends and laugh and laugh about how dumb boys are when we can't read their mixed signals.

I know this is a really late reply to a really old post, and I sure regret the sad occasion for it being called to mind. But that's just so spot on and well said.
