The Gaylord family has generously donated a burning bush to leave your little tyke with upon entry. :)

I'm pretty sure that they feel what you do at home is your own business.

What a bizarre question.

I know at FSU if you come through the gate you have to have a ticket, no matter the age. I had to call and ask them about that earlier this year when I went to order my FSU tickets.

We always took ours. If they gave us grief about not having one, we just went to the next gate til we found someone who let us in. We did that until the boy was 3 then we bought him a ticket.

every breathing human, regardless of age, must possess a ticket to get into the stadium, no matter where your seats are.

Wouldn't consider taking one to a football game, but those 2 and under do not need tickets at basketball. Ironically, the OU AD wizards did make me buy a $10 ticket for my 2 year old at the baseball regional. Yes, he can sit on my lap for free everywhere else, but they wanted $10 to let him play on the grassy mound. And they wonder why noone goes to baseball games.

no offense to those that do, but i've never understood why people take infants to a football game

is the noise like that good for their ears at such a young age?

I think they do. They charged me for my ticket.

If they give you any trouble, just let your wife go in first and toss the baby over the fence when the guards aren't looking. Or, get one of the many Pride members on this board to hide the youngster in a tuba and pick him/her up at the north endzone ramp.

get a sitter. you're not gonna want to be messing with a baby during the game. he'll hate it, it'll be hot, he'll get cranky, he'll get sunburned, he'll get more cranky..seriously..it's worth it to get a sitter. if you don't have anyone around here, i'm sure we could help you find someone.

7/28/2006, 12:47 PM
let me say this....i'm not saying don't bring your baby because i hate babies. I'm trying to help you out. the people that sit in front of me have been bringing their baby since he was about 6 months old..he's almost 6 now but when he was little, they were always having to try to entertain him, keep him happy, go up and down the stairs with him, change diapers, lug a big ol' baby bag around...poor mom never even got to watch the games until about the end of last season.

Football should require a ticket because it is overcrowded enough as it is. A typical 200+ pound man cannot sit between the numbers on the bench. Adding a lap child and all the accessories that come with it make it tough.

OTOH, OU should encourage kids at all other sports since they increase concessions and fan interest (and they are not sellouts).

It just don't seem fair you and Mr BSG have to spring for three tickets, Booty.

Not fair to Mr BSG anyway.

Well, since I live in Dallas, I don't want to take him to a sitter and go all the way to Norman. You never know what could happen. It's kinda hard to rush home if an emergency occurs.

The dead hookers will stay in the freezer where they belong. The rigor mortis makes it a major pain to maneuver them up and down the stairs, and I'm sick of being the one who always ends up taking care of the dead hookers at the game. Sorry Czar. The answer is no.

as many as you like.

Or in as many pieces as you like.

Just not to the tailgate.

Soonrboy

We've taken both of ours since they were infants. We went from having 2 seats, to three, now we are up to 4. The people around us have watched them grow up. Some of them bring them candy, or bring them something from the concessions when they go down during a game. But, we didn't buy them a ticket until they were 3. They are not squirmy, whiny kids, though. That makes a big difference.

PB, just drop Nate off over at my place. I'm an uncle now so that means that I'm qualified.

If not just drop him off at JohnnyMack's house. He's a new dad so he's qualified.

I'm sure Dean would be glad to watch him at the tailgate. He might put crown in his bottle, but the kid's gotta start sometime.

taxman71 has the answer. made me laff out loud.

mite want to practice the "over the fence" toss @ home. don't want 1st toss to happen in a big crowd.

price of baby-sitter is cheaper than price of ticket. also, much better for the infant. especially in hot sept. games. also (again), parents & others in
general seating area, will have much better time.

We use to sit in the S.E.Corner in one of the really short isles, next to this really nice larger couple. They bought 3 seats to have more room. They made sure we all knew they had done so. They were kind enough to give me their extra 4 inches. :P

My two year old went to his first game at 9 days old (didn't buy a ticket for that one). He got a little tired at the end of the game:

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3282/firstgamebh1.jpg

When I got the new seats, I bought four in anticipation. He has been to several OU Football games, around 8 Hornets games, one NASCAR race, and two or three Dallas Cowboys games. He sits in his seat, eats his popcorn, watches the game, and cheers when needed. I think of it as good upbringing. He'll be beside me at OU/tx this year at three.

HOWEVER: he doesn't whine, he doesn't walk up and down the isle, he doesn't run around like a madman, he doesn't leave my side, etc. He's not one of those kids.

he didn't run up & down the stairs @ age 9 days ???

if you have feelings for the child, you'd stay home before exposing child
to elements for 3 or 4 hours at the game. stay home & watch it, or listen on radio.
