The last time a guy with this last name was in charge of anything in Kansas, a lot of Missourians had their homes burned down and they were hanged from the tree in their front yard.:eek:

Charles R. Jennison - Commanded the 7th Kansas Cavalry Regiment, USA, "Jennison's Jayhawkers" composed mostly of thugs and cutthroats. Jennison used the Civil War to settle old scores left over from the fierce pre-war border fighting. Thievery, rape, plunder and murder were passed off to the Kansans and Federal Government as patriotic strikes against pro-South elements in western Missouri. We do know Jennison came out of the Civil War a very wealthy man.
