Liberty D's is re-opening on Aug. 21st. First show is FMOH (http://www.myspace.com/fortyminutesofhell). Food is going to be server from 5-midnight and the menu and cooking is being run by Emilio from Pepe Delgados. No- it's not Mexican- it's burgers and steaks and that kind of thing. Man, I used to go to that place all the time as a kid. What location? Same place?

Same place. 786 Asp. They've gutted the balcony thing up top in the back -- I imagine to add more seating.

The Red Dirt Cafe look-a-like didn't work out well and got busted for a handful of violations that led to its downfall.

sweet. who bought it? I imagine someone with Pepe's since Emilio is running the kitchen and Pepe's bartender (Jeff) and his wife are handling booking. I'm not sure though.

Liberty Drug. Used to be an old pharmacy or something didn't it? Urban legends of pure cocaine in some of the old bottles in the place. Love that stale beer smell of college bars.

Liberty D's had pretty good CFS in the late 80's/early 90's.
