who use Windows XP.
I'm trying to get my workspace like I want it and for the life of me I can't figure it out. I'd like for my task bar to be on the bottom of the left monitor and I want the quicklaunch on the bottom of the right monitor. That way all of the stuff I use a lot is on my main monitor and all the stuff I use occasionally is on my second monitor.
Actually, I have it set up this way by setting it up as a dual monitor system. The problem is that I want my code window to span 2 windows so I can see the maximum amount of text on the main window and have all of the navigation stuff on the right. I can do this too, but for some reason every time I lock my computer when I unlock it the window resizes back to fitting on the main monitor. So I have to resize my window every time I unlock the computer.
If I switch it to use both monitors as one big desktop then it doesn't resize my windows that are spanning both monitors. Hooray! BUT, it also makes my taskbar span both monitors so I don't notice when I get new mail and have to crane my neck to see the current time.
Anyone have a solution for me? For a while I was using litestep with the obsidian skin and it did exactly what I wanted, but it causes a bunch of other issues and annoyances so I went back to the normal windows desktop and taskbar. Right now I can't seem to have it both ways.
All would be solved if I could resize my task bar or make my windows stop resizing when I unlock my workstation.
