who use Windows XP.

I'm trying to get my workspace like I want it and for the life of me I can't figure it out. I'd like for my task bar to be on the bottom of the left monitor and I want the quicklaunch on the bottom of the right monitor. That way all of the stuff I use a lot is on my main monitor and all the stuff I use occasionally is on my second monitor.

Actually, I have it set up this way by setting it up as a dual monitor system. The problem is that I want my code window to span 2 windows so I can see the maximum amount of text on the main window and have all of the navigation stuff on the right. I can do this too, but for some reason every time I lock my computer when I unlock it the window resizes back to fitting on the main monitor. So I have to resize my window every time I unlock the computer.

If I switch it to use both monitors as one big desktop then it doesn't resize my windows that are spanning both monitors. Hooray! BUT, it also makes my taskbar span both monitors so I don't notice when I get new mail and have to crane my neck to see the current time.

Anyone have a solution for me? For a while I was using litestep with the obsidian skin and it did exactly what I wanted, but it causes a bunch of other issues and annoyances so I went back to the normal windows desktop and taskbar. Right now I can't seem to have it both ways.

All would be solved if I could resize my task bar or make my windows stop resizing when I unlock my workstation.

Well, LIKE YOU CARE I bypassed the problem. I ended up tearing off the panels that are on the right of eclipse and making them float on the right monitor. Now when I unlock my PC they stay put and the code window doesn't resize. It works out better anyway because I can make those windows avoid my webcam window.

THANKS FOR NOTHING, YOU RAT BASTARDS!

See, by not helping, we helped you to help yourself.

You're welcome.

Oh , and you know what? My hand was crushed in a dune buggy accident my senior year, which is why sometimes my hand looks like a robster craw. It really hurts my feelings when you make fun of that because I really can't really help it.

THANKS FOR HURTING MY FEELINGS, YOU INSENSITIVE RAT BASTARDS!

See, all that ridicule is just making you tougher and more self-suficient.

You're welcome.

For a while I had to access our Unix network via an exceed session on a dual monitor system. It was pretty handy to stretch that session across two monitors. I'd have layout in the left monitor, and schematics in the right.

That's the only downside of getting my Unix box back.

Eclipse. I like just code on the main monitor and the navigation crap on the right. That way the stuff I use the least is on the monitor I use the least.

OK, here is my setup. Today I'm experimenting with both of my monitors turned 90 degrees. Imagine the split being in the middle of this pic:
