NORMAN — Season tickets are sold, but with all six opponents scheduled to visit Norman this season returning tickets, there is still some availability for University of Oklahoma football games this fall.

The sale of single game football tickets on Tuesday, August 1 at 8 a.m.

Athletics department officials anticipate that a limited number of tickets will be available for each of the six 2006 home games.

Purchases will be available online at SoonerSports.com, on the phone at 1-800-456-GoOU or from the Athletics Department Ticket Office located at the base of the Asp Avenue Parking Facility in Norman. A high volume of phone calls are expected and fans are encouraged to make their purchases online.

The tickets, which range in price from $57-$67, will be sold on a first-come, first served basis.

did you know that washington gave darryl royal his first head coaching job? he was fired 2 years later for a massive slush fund...

Actually, no... Royal's first head coaching job in college was at Mississippi State. He was there one season before going to coach in the Canadian Football League. After that, he wound up as the head coach at Washington, where he spent just one season. He left when Texas offered him its job in 1957.

i thot, that back in those days, they'd (anyone) fire you if you

about 10 paragraphs down in that story link, it talks about Royal leaving after one season. Royal helped Jim Owens (another former OU star) get the UW job after he left...

did you know that oklahoma gave darryl royal his first college player job? he was fired years later for a massive Benedict Arnold act...

royal would have been @ OU if Bud had retired sooner.

when Bud quit, ut was nearing the top of the heap. Royal, @ that time
had it made.
