I have had bikes before, but always sport bikes. I am getting older and I am thinking about a Harley...actually I just made a deposit on one and it is mine if I still want it when it gets here in 30 days.

What do ya think?
Pros vs cons?

Spek to those that are serious

Heres a link to the one I made a deposit on:

No less than Sonny Barger says the only reason he rides a Harley is because he's a Hell's Angel. Otherwise he prefers Triumph, BMW, and Husqvarna, for mechanical reasons.

Boomer, I have slow internet so i did not open link, But is this the one that is painted all black, or is it the one that has the black line x spray on it.

i just talked to a guy tonight and looked at his HD with the black line x spray on it. He HATES IT. looks good clean, but any and all sand and dirt sticks to it. hard as hell to clean. he bought it because it looked good and he did not want to spend all his time with the chrome.

I ran across a steal on a 2005 VROD the other day but passed because it had the orange tank and fenders.

I have a friend that has a Big Dog - that is one sweet bike

Difficult question because one mans pro might be another mans con, especially given something like bikes.

Me personally I would go with a Dyna or Road King maybe even an Electra but thats because I like to take long trips and not just a ride around town every now and then which is what this bike looks like its made for. But then I wouldnt know because I havent rode a V-Rod. Then again I guess it just depends on what you can endure because my brother rode from Ardmore to northern Utah down to Arizona and straight back to Ardmore on a freaking sportster (my dad was on his road king). No way in hell I would do that on a sportster.

vrod is the only harley i would own. but it can't compete with jap bikes either fjr 1300 or others Kaw. just came out with 200 horse bike. if you want cruiser go with goldwing. If you need another so called harley family sales pitch american made:rolleyes: go with harley. it will be like stepping back in time.
