Federal authorities investigate letter scare at 3 NAACP branches
BALTIMORE (AP) _ The FBI is investigating threatening letters sent to NAACP offices in three states.
A spokesman for the civil rights organization says at least two of the letters contained a white powdery substance. Those two were sent to the group's offices in Baltimore and New York City.
All three letters originated from Baton Rouge.
The head of the Baltimore office says the powder sent to that office was boric acid. The substance found in New York has not been identified.
