Do you live in S.E. Oklahoma, AKA Little Dixie? Dead democrats and nursing home residents who don't know their own names vote there every election.

One of the ads for Dan Keating kinda struck me as funny. An attack ad was run against him citing financial problems that he's had in the past.

His response ad says something to the effect of, "<Candidate's Name> was the one who served on the board of the pro-abortion organization Planned Parenthood?"

It struck me as funny, mostly becuase of the question mark at the end--it actually appears on the screen when that point is shown--but also because WTF does a person's stance on abortion have to do with his or her ability to be the state treasurer?

I'm registered Republican in Tulsa.

My choices are:
Governor - BOB!
Lt. Gov. - Scott Pruitt
D. A. - Tim Harris
St. Treasurer - Dan Keating

Let the games begin!!

I've been chewing on this for awhile, and I hate to do it but I think I'm going to have to vote for Sullivan over Istook. If I'm voting for Sullivan over Istook I might as well vote for Pruitt over Hiett.

You could have gotten an absentee ballot, but I don't think that's what you're saying.

You can be damned sure that if you don't vote in Chicaco though that someone else will be donig it for you....

Is he "the only one that makes a lick of sense"? I couldn't vote for him based on that commercial.

St. Treasurer - Dan Keating

Let me guess--he's Frank's brother? Hell, every "famous" person in this state is related to somebody else who's famous.

You're ****ting me. I was right? Man, this state is just one hotbed of inbreeding and intermarriage in the "upper echelon". Didn't one of Keating's (Frank) daughters just get married to a son of somebody who's somebody? How delightfully provincial.

In 8th grade I went to an NFIB meeting at the Muskogee Country Club that Gov. Keating came to speak at. Well, afterward people were milling about outside and I was turned around talking to someone when I kept feeling someone brush against my hand. Well, I kept jerking it back 2-3 times thinking I was just hitting someone. I finally turn around and there is Gov. Keating trying to grab my hand to shake it. I've never gotten past the fact he stood there and tried 3-4 times to shake my 8th grade *** hand instead of moving on.

Taxman71
7/25/2006, 03:59 PM
Cal was not on MY ballot, but he is running for Lt. Governor. You gotta love seeing these term-limited politicians trying to milk a paycheck from the taxpayers as long as humanly possible before having to get a real job (see Fred Morgan, Todd Hiett, et al. as well).

Well my guy for Tulsa DA lost, BUT my guy for Gov won handily, has most of the cash still in his war chest and should be able to cream our current boy governor in the fall.

Expect these campaign themes:

Istook: "I'm NOT Brad Henry" plus "You cannot tax and gamble your way to prosperity"

Our Boy Gov: "Istook is a Mormon"

BTW, "Bob's" ads were just the dumbest thing I ever saw. He should shoot the guy who sold them to him. Since he seems to be decent guy, I am quite confident those stupid ads are what lost it for him.
