Bobby brought OU outta the nightmarish '90s and back into superpower status.

One day, Stoops is gonna leave OU and we'll have to find the next great coaching giant...and that's ok.

Oklahoma has proven time and again that it will eventually reload and flourish. Hopefully, it'll be awhile before we have to do it again. In any event...

Thanks, Bob.

Amen!

And one added bit of gratitude. Thanks, Bob, for having built a program whose participants are learning how to win; in football AND in life. The only real controversy we have seen is whether the BCS ratings are working, whether the strength and conditioning coach is too hard on the players, and whether the stadium name is appropriate.

It is great to be a part of a Sooner dynasty. The third in my life as a Sooner fan.

I could not agree more. In addition to the winning, NC contention and our ownership of Texas in the RRS, he is a quality guy that runs a clean program.

Just think about the guys like Clayton, Cody, etc (too many to mention) that have played at OU under Stoops. Great players and great people. Both of those things matter to Stoops.

Thanks Coach for bringing the shine back to the program.

Thanks for bringing a hard work ethic and instilling it in the players.

Thanks for not being afraid to discipline a player, no matter what their abilities or star status are.

Thanks for making it clear that you love the Sooners and it's not a stepping stone for another head coaching job at another university.

Thanks for making Saturdays something to look forward to again for reasons other than just having the day off.

Stoops has also lead the Sooners to the best win-loss record of ANY team in the NCAA between the years of 2000-2005.

Interestingly enough, UT is just behind by a game or two...

Great post but don't leave out this spectacular season! This season may have been his best yet considering all of the obstacles.

Thanks, Bob, for taking a team that no non-Sooner fan believed could win, and winning your fourth Big XII title in the 8 seasons you've been here. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, this was the best coaching job by anybody in the country. I hope you stay at least another 8 years.

And then he proved it a week later.

This is much more refreshing than the Bob Stoops, you have lost your ability to win big games and maybe it is time for both of us to get a fresh start threads after the whorn game :P
