SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. (AP) - Miami Hurricanes reserve safety Willie Cooper was shot in the buttocks when confronted in his yard Friday morning by an unknown person who fled after another player returned gunfire.

this is the part that cracked me up...


After Cooper was shot, teammate and roommate Brandon Meriweather pulled a pistol from his pants pocket and fired three times at the person, who jumped a fence and fled with another person in a car, police said. It was unclear if the assailant was hit.

Honestly, if I was going outside to investigate a suspicious-looking car parked in front of my house (not that' I'd do something that goofy - I'd just call the cops) I'd sure as hell be armed with something. The police said Meriweather was perfectly justified in shooting back.

Heh. Cooper was shot in the butt-tocks.

This story sounds like it would come from the retro Canes. Not that Miami is dirty or anything anymore quite the opposite they've been clean for years. But it just sounds like this is something that would happen to Miami players back in the 80's.

Ya know...players living in a house that they rent from a football coach, getting into a gun fight.

I wonder if the coach offers the house to any other students besides football players. Probably nothing, but it just seems a bit odd.

How many NCAA football players rent houses from their coach? If OU allows this, it should be stopped. 1,259,093,095 stupid NCAA rules to stop cheating, yet an assistant coach can rent a house to his own players? So Patton could be collecting rent from Cooper, Quinn, Messner, Robinson, Braxton, etc? .

a buddy of mine dropped a load in his bosses personal bathroom(in the middle of the floor) and he walked in mid-dook. it was all over after that.
