It's just an Ipod nano, but hey, it was free.

There's a new place in Yukon that is putting together some ads for radio spots and they want people to call 405-424-1400 and say "Johnsons, Where the rubber meets the road" and when you do they are giving away 150 free Ipod Nano's to the first 150 callers. of course, that WAS 3 days ago. But they may still be doing it. Of course I wouldn't call a promotional line from work, but that's just me.

I originally thought it was a regular Ipod, but hey..free is free....and I didn't give them ANY credit info or anything other than my mailing address.

Pardon me while I go figure out how this thing works.....

Dammit, my iPod shows up in My Computer, but iTunes and iPod Updater don't recognize it, is there maybe a software conflict? I'm getting an "iPod Service Error" alert.

anyone?

SWEET!! I called in and then gave them my mom's number in Chickasha so I could get one. I had to give them her address and they'll send it to her in 5 to 7 days!!!

They have 73 left!!!

They told me 5-7 days but you got yours quicker so I guess I should check with my mom next Wednesday?

I forgot that this was the Friday that you stay at my mom's while I stay at your place. I'm glad that you reminded me. I need to stop at Atwoods and get a chicken.

Hmmm. The first time I plugged mine into my computer it came up with a whole bunch of screens that asked me for my name, the serial number, and so on, registered the thing on the innerweb, and it does this thing where it sort of registers the iPod to the copy of iTunes on your computer so you can't go copying your files to 800 different computers.

Was the box still sealed? I'm thinking maybe someone at the radio station had it out to "make sure it worked" or something and got it stuck to their copy of iTunes.

yes, it was sealed. I'm surfing the ipod site now looking for answers.

I'm sure it's a PC vs. MAC thing....

I'm on a PC, btw.

EDIT: Oh, I remember now: I had also removed iTunes from my computer - I actually installed it again off the CD that came with the iPod. I don't know if that makes a difference.

This reminds me of the time I was at my friend's house and the radio station had a contest with a prize for the 3rd caller. He dialed the number and slammed the phone down, "Dang it, I was the first caller." He tried the number again and then said, "Can you believe it? I was the second caller." And then I just stared at him for a few seconds. He then dailed the number again and started jumping up and down - "I won! I won!" What an idiot, I can't believe I let him hang around with me.
