My cars say they have a Max pressure of 35 psi. What is the best PSI for these tires? All the way to 35? Just under? Also, when randomly checking the tire pressure, if the Max is 35, what should I not let it go below?

TIA.

And we can help with that.

I'm assuming that 35 psi is the max cold pressure? I'd go with 34 or 35. The higher the psi the better mpg you'll get but it will be a slightly rougher ride.

then again, I'm just guessing.

I read something in Car & Driver (good airline-flight reading) that their big editor guy thinks you should keep your tires 3 -5 psi over the rated pressure unless you're in mud or snow.

So at any rate, going a little over won't hurt. going a LOT over is potentially dangerous.

RTFM, SicEm.

Don't use the max rating on the tire itself, use what the owner's manual says.

Yeah, I've been reading that after doing a little more research online.

Thanks.

look inside the driver's door frame for tire pressures.

i go a few psi below that number, cause the pressure will rise a few
degrees when tires are warm.

Inflate it till the tread depth disappears and you got those cartoon-looking donut tires :D

The official response is what does your car say the tires should be inflated to? The sticker in the door will tell you the correct pressure.

Pressuring to the max will give you better MPG as there should be less resistance, but if you have an SUV or such, I would inflate to the door sticker pressure, as you don't need any further excuse to roll over...

Fill until they explode, then back off a few psi.

Or, if your not so adventerous, check inside the driver's door. Like they said. :D

Assuming you have the stock tires on the vehicle.

And stock doors.

Doesn't matter, any tire bought to replace OEMs should be filled to the manufacturer's specs as they would match the specs of the original, unless you went out and bought bling-bling low rim tires and big wheels...
