Anyone know a reputable audio company that could install a home theater system in the Tulsa area?

The company that was originally recommended to me is quoting me a ridiculous amount to install 5 RBH speakers and a Denon receiver in a house that is already pre-wired for sound. The two front speakers that are in there are 5-1/4" JBL which aren't great. Basically they want to replace all of the current wiring with "premium wiring" and give me great components. I went online and found that he was overcharging me anywhere from 60-100% on the components off of what I could get them on the Internet. I like good audio, but I felt the current bid is about twice what it should be and maybe even higher when I think I don't need all of those systems.

Before anyone asks, yes I PMd 85Sooner already.

Trust me, it came as a big surprise to me as well.

Are you going to buy the speakers and components through the installer?

They do both, but basically I was very unhappy with the quotes. For instance, they were quoting a Devon AVR 2807 at $1100. I found it online for $725.

You talked to Signal yet?

I use Signal for all the stuff here at work (VR room, web casting room, sound systems, computer systems, etc)

They also do all the stuff for the Cherokee casino, aggot state-tulsa, Williams, etc. And they do lots of home installations.

The other professional place that I would recommend is Ford Audio, but both my suggestions assume you have some cash to spend.

I do have some cash to spend, but I didn't want to get ripped off either. I assume that is the Signal on 91st? The company that quoted me was Elite.

Yup, thats them.

They do good work, but they are in a crunch at the moment cause their main sales guy was in a major auto wreck and is just working half days. I imagine this is really hurting their business.

do it yourself.

...and check out www.av123.com (http://www.av123.com) If you buy a speaker package from them, they sell the denon receiver at or near cost. The speakers are AMAZING in sound, priced great and look fantastic. I bought one of my HT setups through them and was impressed.

Thanks for the input, and I could probably do it myself given that it is prewired. I just don't 100% know where the wires run to. The front is not an issue though.

they make really simple wire testers that you can use that will tell you which wires go where.
