I was asked today to design a membership card for a new division of the organization for which I work. My first question was as to the intended purpose of the card... Identification? Access to organization events? Discounts at participating retailers?

None of the above I was told. This only purpose of this card is to "add value" to the membership itself. Something the members can stick in their wallets or show their mothers or shrinks. "Look Mom! I'm somebody now!"

So here is my design concept. Please tell me what you think.

Of course you realize now that "Design Professionals" = "everyone on the SO, and maybe random people who GIS this thing"

I work for XXX and all I got was this lousy card printed on a ****ty inkjet printer and laminated by hand.

We need to print that off as business cards and bring stacks of them to tailgates. It'll make the first-time tailgaters feel more at home. ;)

Wow. Very subtle. On my LCD monitor I had to stand up and look from a very steep angle to make that out.

You might include the company logo. Other than that, I think your original design looks great. Way to go!

That's 'bone'. And the lettering is something called Silian Rail.

The sad part is... they probably won't go in the trashcan.
