It's called "The Open Championship". Kind of like "The Ohio State University".

It's also my least favorite major.

Why do you hate trees and green grass?!

I also like to be able to hit a ball down the middle of the fairway and hope it doesn't end up in a pot bunker. I like the pot bunkers, cause they are a real hazard. I just don't like them in the fairway.

I love it. It's normally windy, the players usually have on long sleeved shirts. There's no cheesey music on the boradcast.

I think Hairy put it best...

I love the British Open style of golf...links golf has always fascinated me. You can hit a perfect shot there and be completely screwed.

Man, talk about heaven.

I get enough windy golf playing in Oklahoma. That being said, I would have paid for some wind last Saturday.

It really doesn't get any better than that.

Word.

I like when I avoid the bad parts of town but get struck down by a stray bullet anyway.

Man, talk about heaven.
it's old golf. you know, bunkers are actually hazards?
if you know the slope of the fairway you can kind of try and find the right groove to hit the ball at.
I also thoroughly enjoy watching more irons off the tee and less bombing of the driver and finding it and hitting wedge in regardless if it's in the fairway or not.

The lottery has exceeded projections.

has it? says who? I saw that on the news too.
who's projections exactly? the rednecks who can't pay their utility bills?

You ask a lot of questions.

I posted the article for you yesterday.

I read that. it's funny how they say they've beat projections when a few weeks ago it was way beyond low.
that's also a TW article. heh.

and, you jacked your own thread. stick to the Open. it's real golf.:D

Man, talk about heaven.

it's not heaven squeek, but damn close.

Part and parcel of the game. Everyone has to play the same track from the same tees....so it's fair.

It's nice to see a different style of the game where it's played more along the ground thatn through the air. American courses are soft, with trees and medium rough. Open courses are exactly that, open....with stupid hard fairways and crazy winds that force you to be more creative, and hit the ball low. It's cool to see them hitting 6 irons from 230, and watching the ball roll 100 yards.

I hit low shots all the time, Hairy. It's not hard.

I've done this a thousand times on chips.

Again, easy.

that's why we've been getting stomped in the Ryder Cup as of late.

I thought it was because we sucked at foursomes and fourball.

Yay! The Open Championship week means it's my B day week. Two birds one stone.
Lub the Open. Anyone that favors the PGA Champ over the open doesn't know golf.

Even though I said the Open was my least favorite, I'd probably rate the PGA and Open about the same. Depends on where both are being played.
