OK, I was reading this and all the stuff about Norman was pretty much what I had expected, but scroll down to Leisure and culture section and see what one thing Norman has more of than the other citites on average:D

Is "this" a new magazine?

I saw that list too. IMHO, anyone that puts naperville as #2 on that list deserves to be flogged with a wet noodle.

Naperville is right down the road from me, and really, I'd rather live in Norman.

wheres bartlesville?

Not even listed, as far as I can tell. Not suprising, really, with Phillips moving out of there.

(although I hear that they're moving a lot of it back, suprise suprise.)

You're welcome.

Thanks, Mom.

I'd agree with a lot of those places if it weren't for their location.

Yeah, I like Bartlesville a lot. Spent all my summers growing up there.

I may end up having to get a job there some time; if my grandparents don't sell off their home first, I hear it's likely coming to me.

Hmmm...there's an O'Fallon, MO and and O'Fallon, IL...and both are suburbs of St. Louis. I'm sure that's not confusing at all.

Norman is a nice place to live. I miss it so much. As students, we planned to settle there right after school. As a flight attendant, I was able to live just about anywhere but they have a whole lot more dentists than the town can handle. So in the end, my husband and his brother decided against it.

I always liked Broken Arrow.

Ummm, it list zero sporting events for Norman. How can this survey be taken seriously.

my brother always said that Ft. Collins was a sweet place.

Broken Arrow? no way man, no thanks.

also, Overland Park should be noted for not having any trash or one weed gowing in the entire place.:D

I lived in #99 Fayetteville NC. Dump-o-rama. Seriously.

wheres bartlesville?

They only looked at cities with over 50,000 in population. And less than 300,000.

Bah, it's perennially on the list of "Top 100 Cults in North America."

(I still maintain that the FBI/ATF/etc was really looking for College Station when they hit Waco.)

Lawton got worst city to live in the usa once. Lawton is so bad we took pride in it.

I just hope this doesn't devolve into a "Norman vs. Edmond: which is better?" thread.

(by the way, Norman pwns Edmond)

It was great growing up in Norman. Generally people that grew up, live or lived there are somewhat more intelligent than everyone else on the planet.....:D

Denton is just as bad as Lawton (I lived in Cache for 21 years) and it made #58.

Wichita as a top 10 large city? Please. No good restaurants to speak of and very few good sports. Also, Edmond shouldn't be there anymore. I have lived there off and on since 1978, and the place has gone downhill with all of the traffic. It isn't bad, but I'm liking Jenks a whole bunch better right now.

Edmond is now the place to go for dinner and golf it seems like. I haven't been back much the past few years, but every time I go it gets built up more and more with new restaurants and such.

Norman was fun...enough to do if you knew where to look. People who complain about there not being anything to do around there don't take much trouble to find out.

Wichita baffles me.

That city has more money than they know what to do with. Just a few years ago, Johnson County was the second richest county per capita in the US.

Who designed that site? I searched for "find your best place" and checked affordable housing and good weather as "very important." #1 search result: New York, NY. Huh?
