But I think the sun got to me yesterday. Played a long 18 holes yesterday right during the heat of the day (102-105 degrees), and have just felt worn out all day.

You're crazy Stanley, i worked 11 hours in and out of the heat yesterday, and there is no way on Earth i would have been out in it unless i absolutely had to.

I played 18 today. It was a hot mofo.
Drank a bunch of water. I think that helped.

The key to surviving the heat is stay acclimated to it, as in get out in it daily. Pool time doesn't count.

And you have to start hydrating yourself days before the event.

My older son is training for the Hotter Than Hell 100 bike ride in Wichita Falls in August.
He has been riding most evenings after work, with longer rides on the weekends.
I'm praying for a cold snap on August 26th.

Yea, I think my biggest problem was that I did it on an empty stomach, and drank a couple of beers while out there too. I also downed two Gatorades, but I guess that wasn't enough.

JK's right, don't drink alot of beer in the heat while playing golf. I only drank gatorade and/or water yesterday and today in 102/103 heat and I felt great both days. Btw, I shot a 95 yesterday :( and an 88 today :).

Good jorb.

I put up a sweet 98 yesterday in Coweta. And that's after paring (parring?) the first 3 out of 4 holes.

Amazingly this heat makes my knee and back feel pretty good so I'm playing more to take advantage of it while I can. Did you play at "The Woods" course again? :D

Yep, that's the one.....we couldn't get on at Battlecreek so we just went over there.

You really downgraded your choices, I've played that goat track before. You need to come play over here (to CT) cause the course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. I can get you on anytime or Hairy can if it comes to it. It's just a short drive over. ;)

Short drive's ***. If we ever have a lunch in the middle there again, I'm considering taking a flight. :D

I played in a tournament in Choctaw several years back. Shotgun start and we started on a par 5. I chipped in for eagle on my first hole, then birdied the next hole. I'm -3 after 2 (this isn't remotely close to normal for me).

On the next hole I hit my tee shot OB, triple the hole, and give all 3 shots back. Don't remember my final score, but it wasn't good.

We need to do it again this year before the summer gets away from us and it doesn't have to be here we could have a lunch and play some golf in Tulsa or OKC or anywhere (other than Dallas :D ) everyone would want to meet up.

might as well make it OKC, cause OKC pwns Tulsa. Just go the football board and read the thread. :D
