View Full Version : Help from fellow musicians and techie peeps
I found some cassettes of my band playing over 10 years ago and I want to get them copied onto my hard drive and onto CD. I have the stereo in card that I can link the tape deck up to the pc, but I'm not sure what software to use to record it. Any suggestions?
Man, a couple of them SUUUUUUCCCCKKK... but they're hilarious.

Hmmm. I'm not real familiar with that sort of thing. Maybe Soundforge?

I just did the same thing. I used the tape player ran through a GNX4. I hooked it to the laptop and used ProTracks Plus 2.2, which came with the GNX4. Then, I edited it with Acid (the program).
I think you could use just Acid, though. It's a good music editing program.
the GNX4 let me put some effects and help the signal a bit. It was still horrible (the content as well as the recording) but it worked. I put it in iTunes and can burn the CD now.
