IIRC, we haven't done to well against the spread on opening games in the last several years. Maybe some stat geek has the #'s. Anyway, here's one I think we cover.

28 point win = overconfidence by our young team.

I like a 14-20 point win. Close enough to keep them hungry, but not so close they lose confidence.

Oklahoma has historically not been a good bet at home over the years. Even under Stoops.

I think the point spreads are a little inflated with OU at home.

UAB scoring more 10 with our Defense would be amazing

Bomar throws for a TD and AD runs in two, while only calling two plays the entire game...sweep right, and TE dump. No receiver catches a ball. Stoops and Wilson do not want anyone to see their ofense. As a matter of fact, all plays are from the Ninja formation, making AD's TD's even more impressive...final score 21-3

As has been said, for many years OU hass not done well against the point spread in early games. Makes it tough on me because I will never take the points and bet against OU, but I seldom get into action on them for the first few games.

In recent years, UAB has been kinda like Southern Miss used to be. They go into some game where they are massive underdogs, play above their heads, and scare the bejeebus out of a major powerhouse. Look for this game to be a bit uncomfortable for OU fans. A victory, but not as big as many expect.

I wouldn't bet against UAB this year. They are mostly seniors and we still have a very young team. Sure we have far more talent, but I'd bet on the 21-22 year olds to cover against the 19-20 year olds.

Anybody that is a true Sooner fan - and then bets on the Sooners is stupid. Don't you people know about karma? I bet on the Sooners all through the 90's. At the start of the 2000 season, I made a vow to never bet on the Sooners again.

Bet on the games you couldn't give a **** about. Betting with your heart just doesn't pay.
