I was talking to a buddy of mine that I served with last night and he said that the rest of the Battalion ( 1/158 FA (MLRS) ) that is not in Iraq is being deployed to New Mexico to help guard the border.

I guess the guys in Iraq volunteered to go there.

Sometimes my buddy exaggerates a bit, have any of you heard about any OKARNG units being sent to NM?

It was widely reported over the weekend.

I guess Multiple Launched Rocket Systems may come in handy when the messicans decide to blitz the border.

I'm assuming that they will leave the SPLLs at Ft. Sill and just take their humvees and deuce & a halfs. I doubt that they would take all of their HEMMITTS either. I don't think they took any vehicles to Iraq.
