have a sweet song written about living there like Tulsa does? Tulsa Time is a sweet song, and there is no way around that.

if you really listen to the lyrics, Tulsa Time is a song about gay sex with commies.

When Huey Lewis mentions you in a song, you know you've made it.

If I could give him spek, I would because he gives a shout out to not one but TWO cities in Oklahoma.
I'm still wondering why he gave a shout out to Baton Rouge instead of New Orleans?

You HAVE been to New Orleans, right?

And good point... he gave the SOONER STATE two mentions. Tell me "Lincoln" couldn't have fit in there where "Tulsa" is.

Haven't been to New Orleans since I went to the World's Fair back in 1984. Ironically enough, that's when that song came out.

Instead of Tulsa, Huey should have mentioned Lincoln instead of Austin.

What we need is a song about our hills.

Oh, and he mentions two Texas cities, but not Dallas or Houston. I'm still trying to figure out San Antonio and Austin's contributions to rock and roll.

Ahem. People, people, Bobby Troup wrote it, Nat By God King Cole and Mick Freakin' Jagger have both sung it, "Oklahoma City looks oh so pretty." I believe there is no debate.

He's right, I can't deny it...however the lyric in Route 66 has more to do with quickly driving through OKC versus actually stopping to live there.

Take Me Back to Tulsa and Livin' on Tulsa Time have to do with people who desperately want to return to the Crown Jewel of Green Country.;)
