Went golfing today

I went to the Lincoln jr. course. I was surprised how well I played on a short par 3 course where I could relax about distance. I kept the ball out of the rough and made the green in 2 shots or less 7 out of the 9 times. That's real progress for me. It turns out jr courses can be useful to non-juniors.

the former OU golf coach David Yates used to have the OU golf team (and we junior players in norman) play from the red tees a couple times a week just so you got used to making birdies and hitting short irons thinking about making a good score. of course, we weren't paying to pay green fees per 18, either...as emplyees and the OU course inna day had a sweet junior deal where if you passes a rules and etiquette exam you could play 18 for like 4 bucks or something.

Yates and OU won the National Championship in 84 or 85.


always say you "played golf" then not "going golfing".......(the curmudgeon speaks).
