The quality of his music declined after that.

I still own the cassette tape of Falco 3, the album that "Rock Me Amadeus" was featured on. Pretty good album all the way around, also had "Vienna Calling" on it, as well as a cover of Bob Dylan's "It's All Over Now Baby Blue."
I recently checked out some of the Falco videos on YouTube.com. "Der Komissar" (the pre-After the Fire version) is a classic (especially with him dancing with the police lights flashing on the background), but I also got to check out his video of "Jeanny," also on the Falco 3 album. Pretty bizarre video to go with a pretty bizarre song, IMHO.

He died in a car wreck in the Domenican in 1998.
Wow.

Falco died of severe head injuries received following his collision with a bus in his Mitsubishi Pajero near the resort of Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic on February 6, 1998 at age 40. At the time of his death, he was working on a comeback into the music world. He is buried in the Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery) in Vienna, Austria.
