Right now the only Recruit that has signed is Chad Lee, a Pitcher who was drafted in the 4th round by the A's. The best player in the recruiting class who was suppose to a lock for a 1st round pick was Devin Shepard, a 5 tool outfielder who was one of the top 5 outfields in High-School, dropped to the 5th round and said to james hale that if the Minn Twins dont give him 1st round money, he will be in Norman next year. Shepard told hale that there is a better then 50% chance he will end up in norman. There has been talk lately that the Twins are offering good money.

If we do lose Shapard, he will be the only other that will leave, we will retain all but 2, most likely.

Baseball Summer League Update

NORMAN, Okla. -- As part of continuing coverage of Oklahoma baseball throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country, including former Sooners playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates.

Update No. 3
Kody Kaiser and Joe Dunigan have helped the Orleans Cardinals to a 7-3 mark over the last 10 games, comfortably holding on to the top spot in the Cape Cod Eastern Division. Through 22 games, Kaiser leads the team in total bases (28) and is tied for the top spot in RBIs (12). In a recent game that featured Sooners on both sides, Dunigan went 2-for-4 while Kaiser added an RBI and a run in a 6-5 victory over fellow Sooner Aaron Reza and the Chatham A’s.

Also in the Cape Cod League, Jackson Williams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, leading the Hyannis Mets to a 6-1 victory over the Cotuit Kettleers on July 4. Hyannis sits in fourth in the Western Division, winning five out of its last 10.

Reza leads the Chatham A’s in batting average (.358), placing him second in the Cape Cod League standings. The A’s find themselves at the bottom of the Eastern Division, losing eight out of their last 10 games.

In the Texas Collegiate League, Sooners Brandon Moss (Euless LoneStars) and Matt Lovelady (Weatherford Wranglers) played in the All-Star Game after a successful first half to the season. Lovelady currently holds a 1.98 ERA with a save in seven appearances for the Wranglers, while Moss is near the LoneStar lead in runs, doubles and RBIs.
