******-drinker

I think I'd like to start using that one. I like how it implies both stupidity and general ******ry.

I got one to use while I'm driving, and only when it's an important call. After my wreck, I just figured I needed to keep both hands on the wheel and pay attention

Pfft women drivers. :eyeroll:
None of my 3 major wrecks and 2 dozen or so lesser ones were due to a cell phone. Women just shouldn't drive.

so I can't wear one while driving on the phone?

here's the thing........you dont just slip it on as your cell phone is ringing, you put it on before hand and wear it in the event your cell phone does ring, or so that you can make a call.....and i highly doubt that when you put your car in park and you get out, you take it off your ear and start talking on your normal phone......

so yes, you can wear it.......but like i said before, they're idiotic looking....seriously

and TDin2K - these gadgets are not feminine at all.....in fact they're quite masculine.....so yeah, get yourself something else

its a gadget, which begins with G

gay begins with G too.......coincidence? i think not.....

I agree that they are dumb looking. You look like a cyborg with a freaking annoying flashing blue light.

But as much as I am on the road I need to have one. I have too many people calling me to just let vm catch it. It's also handy when I'm trying to swerve around huge *** trucks who merge into my lane with out looking.

And yes I do take mine off when I put the car in park, because it does they do look freaking stupid.

They look stupid but when you're driving or doing manual labor, they're handy. You can eep working while talkign. I know, that sounds crazy that someone would not make a phone call and excuse to stop working. :D

Walking aruond in Wal Mart with it is another thing.

Really though, it doesn't look bad enough for it to really bother me. It's not like I'm Mr Super Good Looking Guy who is trying to impress everyone anyway.

this part i can agree with...

what is really confusing is when they actually do start talking to you

i stopped using a headset when i worked the helpdesk for that reason. someone would walk up on me when i was on the phone and just start talking while i was troubleshooting someone's Dial Up Networking or something

Last week I walked past a woman who said HI, I turned back and returned the salutation, then I saw the thing in her ear as she gave me a gth look and she continued on with her conversation.

I also saw a dude getting out of a car held together by duct tape with one of those things in his ear.

I don't have one, don't have any plans to get one, but I'm a bit baffled by how much others seem to be annoyed by them. I find people in public with short shorts that show a$$cracks & tacky back-tattoos far more offensive than phone earpieces.

Try using a cell phone while you're carrying a briefcase and pulling your luggage around the airport. Say what you will, but headsets are practical and they do help those of us that travel for a living. Also, if you're in the grocery store pushing a heavy cart around, they come in pretty handy too. I used to think they were stupid looking (I still kind of do), but they're pretty helpful and handy to have.

jk the sooner fan
7/10/2006, 01:00 PM

but they're idiotic looking

how did we survive a trip to the grocery store before cell phones?

The obvious problem here is that then I'd have the Oakleys! I have no use for Oakleys. Besides, if I were to snatch the Oakleys I would deprive the rest of the world of making fun of the said Oakley-on-the-back dude...and, believe me, he needs to be made fun of! :D
