Some doof at DU wanting to prove that the WTC attack was a government conspiracy tries to show that fire can't melt steel by doing a little experiment: place a cinder block on top of a rabbit cage and light it on fire! LOL!

he should have put a rabbit in the cage for added effect.

Wow, guess I can stop studying engineering now, looks like this guy has it all figured out.

dude's an idiot for thinking that his model proves anything other than that a short term kerosene fire in a well ventillated steel cage isn't enough to compromise the steels integrity....

this relates to the WTC collapse about as well as Dean relates to homos.

wow. does he really think kerosene is close enough to jet fuel? i mean, that's not even the biggest problem with that experiment, but seriously. I'm surprised he didn't just light a candle or something.

There's no comparison here, and the retard should know that.

First, the structrual integrity of the buildings were severely violated
upon impact of the planes. Then add in THOUSANDS of gallons of
jet fuel burning, plus thousands of tons of weight on the structure
with all of this going on.

Actually, jet fuel basically is kerosene.

Exactly. The WTC's fate was sealed the second those planes hit.

yeah, but I'm pretty sure jet fuel is a much purer kerosene than the type you use in a lamp and it probably burns far more efficiently

I don't know about you all, but I LOVE that guy. :D

plus, one of the biggest issues that is obviously overlooked here is that the fire was contained in the building...there wasn't really any way to effectively dissipate the heat. so while the jet fuel may not have initially burned hot enough to melt steel, the fire could very easily have still reached temperatures hot enough to melt steel in some locations.

He needs to build it a little bigger and drive his car into it with as many cans of Jet A he can get into the back seat.

Then I think he might be onto something...:D
