OK - I'll bite. WTF?

It's like when the wife & I went to the OKC Museum. There was a painting called something like "Blue on Red" It was a blue stripe down the middle of a red canvas. Nothing else, nothing blended it - just blue on red.

Once again...WTF?

Rothko went beyond that. his work had depth, not just blocks of color. they were perfectly crafted forms of contrast. and the edges were beyond belief- you'd have to be a painter to understand. look him up, Mark Rothko.

OK - I looked him up...but I still don't get it. I'm sure you're right, I'd have to be a painter to understand.

But I'm tellin ya, this picture in the OKC Museum - it's like 12'x8'. Just a plain blue stripe down the middle of a red canvas. No other colors, nothing blended. I don't get it.
