Looking back, I'd say the year I was 29 (2003) was the best overall.

Professionally, I got a promotion at my job and as a result I went on some fun trips.

Personally, I made some good friendships that year and met individuals who I count as some of my best friends.

Romantically, I dated a few guys who certainly weren't keepers, but helped me to learn from the experiences.

What about you guys?

Damn, I hope it hasn't happened yet.

But looking back, there was good stretch of 18 months or so when I was 18/19.

How can you people remember all of the things that happened in a particular year? I barely remember what has occured since January.

18. Dated a girl I was in love with, started for the football team, all my best friends lived 5min away, didn't have to pay any bills and found out I got a scholarship to OU.

Tie

18 (1994) Same reseason as Iron Sooner, except for the scholarship to OU
21 (1997) Transferred to OU, joined my frat, first OU FB game in person.

Sad to say, it's been down hill after that :(

Oddly enough, the year I was 32. :)

Not a perfect year, but everything seemed to be going my way then. What a difference a year makes.

I can think of plenty of bad things that happened that I wouldn't want to do again in pretty much any year thus far. So, I'm going to go all Carnac on this topic and say '47'.

27 was a good age. Old enough to go anywhere and not be considered a kid, young enough to avoid real responsibility.

High school age was good, but only in hindsight.

I can't remember much before I obtained my disability at an early age, but I've been pretty lucky and the last 28 years with a loving wife and 2 daughters kinds of melds together and it's hard to differentiate as a best year, though I have had some health issues lately, things are going pretty good...

5 months. I slept whenever I wanted. Others bathed me. People did stupid stuff just to make me laugh. Got fed when I cried and pooped whenever I felt like it. Good times.

I here it all comes around again if you live long enough. That's my goal in life.

Well, right now will be hard to beat. I had my "harem" on the couch last
last night. Slickwife and I were sitting on the couch, slickdaughter
crawled up in our laps and fell asleep. Slickdog was also on the couch,
doing her usual sloth thing - nothing.

When I was seventeen
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen

When I was twenty-one
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stair
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was twenty-one

When I was thirty-five
It was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
We'd ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was thirty-five

But now the days grow short
I'm in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
from fine old kegs
from the brim to the dregs
And it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

It was a mess of good years

1998 was a fantastic year for me in sooo many different ways. It was an uphill battle getting to 1998 and there haven't been nearly enough 1998's since then.

I was 16 though I think the best parts of that year were while I was 15.

As cliche as it is, every year has been better and better.

If I had to peg down one year, it would probably be sr year of hs. I owned the school. Literally. I (legally) had a master key for the building. :D

This year so far has kicked some *** too. I'd rank it in about the Top 3 or 4.

1. 2004 (see above)
2. 2000 (OU Nat'l Championship, bought a house but my dog died)
3. 2006 (Took a kick *** vacation, bought a new ride, still love my job)
4. 1999 (Started school @ OU but had a crappy job I hated)
5. 1995 (Turned 21, crazy trip to New Orleans)

Problem is..they speak...you see.
I can not stand listening to the typical high school girl conversation. I want to lynch myself.

If they could just keep their mouths closed (at least for the purposes of talking) then there'd be no problem. Unfortunately, I have yet to meet a teenage girl that knew when to shut the hell up.

Mine was 27.

The very best year of my life.

But these past couple have been good in a very different way. Making me be a grown up,...making me see things in a new way...

But 27 was the $hit.

New house, still kid-less.

don't get me wrong, I love my son, but it sure was a happy-go-lucky,
golf-alot, time of my life.

I was a big fan of 1995-1998, age 5-9 in that span, good times there. Nothing really beat waking up and watching Legends of the Hidden Temple.

I'm not quite 60 but getting close. I would not be 25 again for a whole bunch of money. I guess everyone has their price, but it would be high. Being old means never having to say you're sorry.

I can't remember if there was one particular year....but...

When I was 16-17 and Dad had our family sailboat available for me to use at my beckon call....

There were some times I can remember giving a few young ladies their 1st sailboat experience....:D

As the day before my 26th birthday became my 26th birthday, I was sitting outdoors in a hot tub that I'd helped build, surrounded by a foot+ of snow in which my champagne bottles were chilling, with a cigar in one hand, a bottle of champagne in the other, and a naked girl under each arm. I'll leave out the rest of the details since this is a family board. Suffice it to say that 26 might could have been a better year, but you can't ask for a better start. Right Lawrence?
