I bought a King Cobra ss350 8.5 degree
The club (http://www.wavelandgolf.com/docs/CobraSS350.html)
with a Grafalloy Blue shaft.
The Shaft (http://www.grafalloy.com/grafalloy/blue.asp)

for $65 from a buddy that had only hit it once at the range. I used it to play 18 the other day and actually kept it on the fairway the whole day. I was sold pretty quick.

Have you played with it since you bought it?

I've got a Callaway 454 Titanium with a UST Accra shaft which I love, but I'm just now figuring out how to get distance without trying to kill the ball. It's nice hitting a towering 275 yard drive after you just felt like you took a practice swing. :) Wish I'd have figured that out last year.

I really like King Cobra driver heads. They're not as prestigious as TaylorMizunikleveland, but with a good shaft they're solid clubs, in my mid-handicapper opinion.

I've never found a Taylor Made I hit well. I suppose some people do, but something about em doesn't agree wth me.

I know I can't hit the R5 for ****, which was a big disappointment. I really wanted to like it because it's cool.

The worst thing you can do is use someone else's driver; you will always knock the crap out of it, then when you buy it or one like it, you can't find the fairway the rest of your life

Heh. No kidding. My mom had a Big Bertha that she hated. She let me use in on the driving range one day and I was crushing it. I traded her my generic driver which she loved for the Big Bertha and I haven't hit it like then since.

Well, actually, 5 years later, I'm starting to get the feel for it. Still, though, that first time was the most amazing. [cue jkm]

Has anybody seen or used that new driver with the screws/weights that you can allign to compensate for your natural swing?

Yeah, I played 17 holes after I gave him the money.;)

it's ok if you don't hit it straight. just make sure it ends up where you want it to go.:D

Hairy does'nt want to waste his time with us amateurs..............but,
I like my Cobra 440, I gained about 40 yards on my drives when I started using it and I normally hit it straight.

I went to a 12 degree driver. More loft = straighter drives...some of the time.

I think that's a 7 Wood.

most of us would be better off hitting a 7 wood off the tee. Phil Mickelson too.

7.5 degrees?
My putter almost has that much loft.

I have no business hitting a driver with that little loft.

I cheat AND i'm sneaky. A scary combination. Pic's just mad cause he goes in the tank every time I show up. I'm very intimidating.

90% of you people hit a driver with too little loft and too stiff a shaft. Here's a recipe for you.

Hit it farther and more crooked, use a softer flex shaft.

Hit it shorter but straighter, use a stiffer shaft.

Good luck finding the right combo. Just about ever driver head out there is essentially the same. It's the shafts that make the difference. Dispersion characteristics are highly overlooked, IMO.
