if its 1-12 people, then yes its rude, because they will notice.

if there are more than 12 people, they wont notice, beause the group would be to big.

I never can seem to show up empty handed. guess that's due to my baptist blood. we'll show up to heaven with a covered dish.

One of my old tricks was to get some store bought potato salad and take it home. Then hard boil about 2-3 eggs. Put the store bought salad in a nice bowl and smooth out the top. Then put the sliced eggs on top and sprinkle some paprika on the top.

Take to the party and they think you spent all morning making the potato salad from scratch.

The Ladies all go nuts over you and then try to marry off their daughters on you.

I made it even easier. I bought the stuff and as I was walking in, I popped the protective tape, and told them I made the dish at home and simply put it in an old store container so I wouldn't have to worry about taking the container back home. ;)

Now to counter that You have a BBQ and wait till every one shows up and then Say whats to eat ? ;)

lol...I brought some Rum and I drunk the lion share of it...so it was a win win situation for me. ;)
