My Friend's Brush With Steven Tyler

Co-worker and long time friend was at Cape Canaveral Sunday for the shuttle launch. Her bro. works at NASA, so they had good inside passes.

After it was scrubbed, she went down A1A to Ron Jon Surf Shop (the place is huge) with her kid, and said she parked about a block away. On her way in to the store, she walked right in front of Steven Tyler. Shocked. Tyler was supposed to perform at or before the launch - or some such - I don't know when rock acts the likes of Aerosmith officially became part of shuttle launches, but it is what it is at this point in our societal evolution.

Gina, my friend, said Tyler was very polite - didn't flirt - and she's quite flirtable. Later, she went inside with a disposable camera and asked if she could get a pic with him. He said "Well, I'm shopping right now, but go ahead. Click away."

She was impressed. I would have asked what Liv was up to.

I can't imagine this guy with his name and face recognition, trying to do stuff without being mobbed.

I had lunch with Steven Tyler in Boston this past St. Pats.

Well...he had lunch 10 feet away from me...but it was sort of the same thing, right? Not a great restaurant, more like a tent along the water that used to have health code problems, but still...

My cousins next single will be released in the next couple of weeks. Steven Tyler has collaborated with him on this one. I look forward to hearing this cut of the song. At some points through their tours they plan on hooking up and singing it together live. I am gonna try to get with him at one of those concerts. I've met my cousin, I've never met Steven T.;)
