I know this won't be impressive to anyone on the board since everyone here is a scratch golfer, but I broke 90 for the first time this weekend. Shot 89 at a course near Lake Tenkiller. Yay me!

Any exciting golf events over the weekend?

Fine - I don't care if she's 16 or not, I'll say it: Michelle Wie is hawt.

wow, you almost choked it away with that back nine. :D

I'm kidding, good round. 85 is the next target.

Good round M!

You don't know the half of it. :D I made the mistake of adding up my score before teeing off on 18....I knew I needed 6 or better. I hit it way right, 2nd shot back to the left in the junk, 3rd shot nearly in the water, 4th was a chip over the green so I had to get up and down in 2. Luckily I did or I'd have really been ****ed.

My cousin was on the Channel 8 sports last week because of the golf expo, he stopped by the house but we weren't home.

I don't believe a word in this thread.

Bruce is not impressed.

I shot a 98 at Lake Murray. The foot wedge was used a few times so I probably really shot a 110. I only lost 3 balls. I was a winner in my book.

I'll go with attractive but not hot. that would require some lips and a head that doesn't look like ET's.

still, how some people give her some props for YET AGAIN finishing 2nd in a womens major at her age.

She will dominate the womens sport for several years, and I bet it happens sooner rather than later.

I predict she will discover boys in the near future and begin cheerleading and then forget about golf more or less.:D

btw Hairy, is your club in good shape for the morrow?

Didn't she finish third? I believe humpty finished 2nd due to the playoff.

OU4LIFE

splitting hairs ron, I still see it as 2nd, since there was a tie for first and a playoff.

Pic, the course is in as good of shape as any in this area right now, and TONS better than that wreck of a golf course we played a couple weeks ago.

She finished 3rd...and yes, she is real good. Heck, she's the 2nd ranked player in the world!

without a caddy, do you think she could find the next hole AND keep proper score?:)

Her caddie didn't help her much in that tournament she was DQ'd from.

I shot an 89 at Cimmaron/Aqua Canyon.

My first time breaking 90, too.

Cimmaron or Aqua?

89 at Cimmaron is better than a 89 on Aqua.

Aqua.

It was still a legit 89. Let me have my moment in the sun! ;)

Aqua is a fair test, I was just saying that Cimmaron is harder.

I'm sure your 89 at Aqua > Pat's 89 on the putt-putt course at Tenkiller. ;)

That Tenkiller course, particularly the back 9, is kinda hard. I think so anyway. Easy to lose golf balls on the back and it plays longer than the front.

I think I know the course you're talking about, but I haven't played it. Just giving you a hard time. It's cool to break 100, 90 or 80 for the first time. I've yet to break 70 and am sure I never will.

Tenkiller Golf Club:

Yards: 6,455 Rating: 69.8 Slope: 117

Aqua Canyon:

Yards: 6,415 Rating: 70.0 Slope: 114

I guess this means they're similarly difficult?

Cimarron National is an extremely tough course because it matured about 30 years ago and they don't know how to cut a friggin' tree down. Several of the fairways are only 20 yards wide and their par 4's are ridiculusly long. 12 0f the eighteen holes involve or are over water.......I hate that course. :(

Newbomb Turk

looks like they are pretty close. As a bogey type golfer, the slope means more than the rating does.

I usually hover in the 95-105 range.

It's always cool to break a number, whether it be 120 or 70.

how does the slope figure into determining your handicap?

Slope is like when the ball rolls down the side of the green into the water hazard. :O
