After returning to its 1970s muscle-car roots with the Charger in the 2006 model year, Dodge will add a companion Challenger, perhaps as early as the 2008 model year.

Pfffft, forget Mustangs...they are for girls!!!!:D

In further keeping with its roots, Challenger will get a beefy Hemi V-8 engine, teamed with a 6-speed manual transmission. Dodge boasts that, with the Hemi, the Challenger is capable of a zero- to 60-m.p.h. time of 4.5 seconds, a 13-second quarter mile and top speed of 174 m.p.h. Huge 20-inch radial tires kept it glued to the pavement.
6speeds with pistol grip shift!! RAWWRR!

There's no word on price. Estimates are that Challenger may be in the $20,000 to $25,000 range to go head-to-head with Mustang.
That last line I have a problem with, thats pretty cheap once you consider the engine and transmission...probably more like $25,000-35,000.

Chargers were cool. I don't particularly care for the new one though.
Challengers were always ... meh.

And Mustangs? Lots of guys love Mustangs.

I am not much of a ford man, but the Camero and the Challanger, 2 of the best muscle cars ever. Of coarse I loved the road runner, super bee, GTO Judge, Malibu SS. Man talk about bringing back memories

if they sell for $20-25 they would probably be marked up at the dealer due to demand

maybe that is where they start with a V6 or something

and you even posted in the original thread...twice!:D

Actually, I posted it because it has some other pics and a link to even more.

I will probably buy one of these when they come out as long as they don't flake out on the motor or interior options.

Don't fall for it. It has a rounded head. Hemi just a selling catch phrase.

it's pretty much a "hemi"; except for a couple of quench areas.

they'll never sell one for 20k, with the "hemi" engine. maybe, with the smaller v-8. probly only with the v-6.

check prices on magnum & charger, with "hemi", they run @ least 30k.

like the magnum, it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. on the other
hand, the "charger ? is a FOUR door. except for nascar, then, magically it
becomes a 2 door.

In Nascar it's a No Door. :D

I'm not a Dodge guy, but I really like what Dodge is doing with the car styling. The 300, Charger, Magnum, and even that new Caliber. And I think that new Challenger picture is very nice.

The Main thing they seem to be incorporating is the large wheel well opening that makes it look lower and lets you put very larger wheels and tires. The new Impala has the same sort of "4 door that looks like a 2 door and has tons of room" thing, but the wheel wells are so small it doesn't have the same look.

There's some nice things happening with cars. If only I drove a car.

I can't believe I wrote "very larger".

it would be lots cooler if the Impala had gone more in that direction than the lamo FWD crap they are doing now

I saw a mini-JEEP looking thing yesterday. Not sure what is was. It looked like a cross between a mini-Cooper and a JEEP

Was it an FJ Cruiser? Those are pretty cool, too.

$75? You'll probably need it the way gas is going up.

I about shat yesterday when I put $39 worth in my Altima. I thought I was going to hit the $40 mark filling a vehicle for the first time in my life.
