TRRW was better than George Rogers for #38

heh..they managed to find a placekicker for #4 but forgot Jamelle Holieway.

31-3 career record as a starter.(iirc)
3 Big 8 titles.
1 NC.

Last wishbone quarterback to win a NC.
One of only two freshmen to quarterback their team to a NC.

Souther Miss QB Brett Favre; Washington State PK Jason Hanson; Michigan QB Jim Harbaugh; Miami QB Steve Walsh; California RB Russell White.

If not Holieway, it should go to Walsh. Too many times the makers of college lists factor in NFL success.

If Favre didn't have a brilliant NFL career, he'd probably wouldn't even make this list.

J.C. Watts should at least get an honorable mention for #1.

Same for Little Joe at #24.

I'm biased but still...

Harbaugh over Holieway is a complete joke. Jamelle was the state of the art definition of the position "option QB" at the time....Harbaugh was a solid Michigan QB. there seems to be an unusually high # of Big 10 players....especially Ohio State.

Sooners get some love in the high numbers on D....and nice to see Ricky Bryan of Coweta, America get some love. i've always loved that pic.

I also think honorable mention Trev Alberts at #34 is out of his league.

Jerry Tubbs #53. Walter Camp Award winner. played both ways for Bud during the streak, Center and LB. Pro-Bowler, NFL Hall of Famer.

They lost me when they put Reggie Bush over Edgerrin James, Paul Hornung, Donovan McNabb, and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Reggie Bush wasn't even the best running back on his team. Hell, LaDainian Tomlinson had nearly 800 more career rushing yards than Bush had rushing AND receiving.

Seems like OU had a pretty good quarterback who wore number 5 and lost exactly 1 start.

I'd pick Reggie over all the guys you mentioned.

that was a bit iffy, IMO. here's Maisel's response to my Jerry Tubbs suggestion....though he didn't go for Greg Roberts at #65 (he listed no honorable mentions there).

******

Should have had tubbs in the mix, no question. Thanks for writing.

how about Sooner Jerry Tubbs at #53....no mention of this Walter Camp Award
winner, consensus All-American who played both ways at linebacker and center
for Bud Wilkinson's Sooners during the 47 game streak? NFL Pro Bowler, NFL
Hall of Famer?

no honorable mentions at #65?

How's about #65 Greg Roberts, ALL-American, Outland Trophy winner....blocked for
the 77-78 Thomas Lott/JC Watts...Billy Sims...David Overstreet...Kenny King
wishbone?

Check out #88. Expected it to be Keith Jackson and it rightfully is.

That OSU defensive back in that picture needs to get his head in the game.
