KSt, KU, and aTm all in Waco. I figure they'll win one of them for sure with two not out of the question. If OSU has punted on their season by 11/11 (pre-their bowl game against us), that's a very winnable game for BU. OU and TX not much of a chance. Maybe win one of CU or Tech? I don't know, I just think Baylor may be pretty average this season, and that's probably enough to beat out aTm and OSU and possibly TT in the rankings.

Texas has beaten Tech by 30 and 35 points the past two years. We've got their offense figured out. No way do they finish above UT. The Big XII South will again be won by the winner of the RRS.

I gotta go with TexanSooner 420. OU still has to beat TX though. Damn this oughtta be a great game.

I only see about 4 wins for Baylor.

Lets not really discuss the first two as I'm sure this comes as no surprise to you guys.

Now for the rest (call it the Fran Keeps his Job Plan):
TAMU
Tech
OSU
Baylor

Here me out about the Ags. They'll finally have the DC to stop the fun n' gun/pirate offense. Which is essentially the same as what Baylor and OSU will throw at them. I honestly think they are rebuilding that defense to ensure their No. 3 status. Of course, both OU and Texas should have no problem running over the aggy gomers as usual. But the ability to clear their way to a bowl game by beating the scrubs of our division should be enough for another Fran-tastic finish.

Baylor's first year of the spread option will be incredibly ugly. Their defense is extremely weak.

they also have to leave their home state only twice all year...their longest road trip is Lawrence.

Their first five conference games:

Texas Tech
at Kansas
Missouri
at Oklahoma State
at Baylor

toughest game is tech and they catch them at home...if they're not undefeated when we visit CS, Fran may not be on the sidelines there in 07.

if Fran goes 0-3 against OU, Tech, and UT he's gotta be done. and the Ags have had some real trouble with Baylor the last couple years, additionally.

Since this thread was started by aggy I won't discuss anything above #3. Besides, this is a sooner board and Tuesday is less than 24hrs away. That said, I think Guy Morrison is putting together a real sleeper in Waco. If he can scrounge together enough talent to make his coaching work he is going to surprise several teams very soon. The dude is tough as nails and can coach. I'm not projecting Baylor at #3 but if they ended the season there it wouldn't surprise me. I will, however, go out on a limb and predict that Baylor won't allow more than 2 teams to score over 20 on them in 06 and neither of those 2 teams will be aggy or sand aggy.

i'd be willing to bet that Guy Morrison doesn't win a single game at Baylor next year.

I don't know. For an artsy dude, he kind of looks like a football coach to me:

you can tell he's smart since he's reading a book, casually and rakishly. and not only that the gilded framed pic behind him is hung at an angle and not square to the floor....that's how you can tell he's not into pretense but real substance.

tie is a little too wide and collars a little passe as well.

not to sound like Huey Lewis, but being square is marketable and what people like in academics. trust me, i know.

receding hairlines and receding lips are also passe. But I can't imagine an intellect like this taking a shine to botox injections and manscaping.

1. UT: 7 Starters return on both sides of the ball, most depth in the conference
2. OU: Good Potential, but has yet to dominate a meaningful game since 2004.
3. A&M: Watch...
4. TTU: Most consistent team in Big XII History
5. Baylor: They will beat a team above them here
6. OsU:

ou hasn't dominated a meaningful game since 2004? i guess that depends on your definition of meaningful, but i think for a team that was on a rebuilding year, a win over #6 oregon in the holiday bowl is pretty meaningful. for most of the game, their quarterbacks were eaten alive by OUr d, and don't forget about the dismal performance by this stewart guy that all the duck fans are bragging about.

Agreed. Unless of course your aggies pull off an upset in your backyard rivalry and we plant ours 6 feet under...

When I say thay havent dominated a meaningful game since 04', thats what I meant.
Yes they beat Oregon, but the game was not dominated. In the final few minutes Oregon was still in position to win the game as was Baylor, Nebraska, A&M etc.

Im just saying the truly great Sooner teams kicked people's asses and left no questions. I just don't see that same intensit domination and consistencyy from these new guys, but it could change..Im just saying if they dont get it, a MNC is out of the question.
