Here's my shot at it. By absolutely no means am I an expert, either.

1st 2nd
QB: Rhett Bomar Joey Hazle
RB: Adrian Peterson Allen Patrick / Demarco Murray
WR: Malcolm Kelly Quentin Chaney
WR: Juaquin Iglesias Fred Strong or Eric Huggins
WR: Paul Thompson Manual Johnson
FB: Matt Clapp Dane Zaslaw
TE: Joe John Finley Brody Eldrige or Jermaine Gresham
LT: Chris Messner Brandon Braxton
LG: J.D. Quinn Ben Barresi
C: Jon Cooper Jesse White
RG: Sherrone Moore Ben Barresi
RT: Duke Robinson Brandon Walker

DE: C.J. Ah You Larry Birdine
DE: Calvin Thibadeaux John Williams
DT: Carl Pendelton Cory Bennett
DT: Demarcus Granger Gerald McCoy or Steve Coleman
WLB: Rufus Alexander Lewis Baker
MLB: Zach Latimer Curtis Lofton
SLB: Demarrio Pleasant Lamont Robinson or Lewis Baker
CB: D.J. Wolfe Marcus Walker or Brian Jackson
CB: Reggie Smith Lendy Holmes
SS: Keenan Clayton Darien Williams
FS: Nic Harris Jason Carter

P: Mike Knall Garrett Hartley
K: Garrett Harley Matt Anderson
KR: Reggie Smith Demarco Murray
Allen Patrick Jacob Guitierrez
PR: Reggie Smith Lendy Holmes
LS: Clint Gresham

Don't remember where I heard it, but somebody was talking about the possibility of using Birdine in a LB stance on some downs, ala Cody. Be pretty awesome to see Thib, C.J. and Birdine all on the field at once.

I dont know if I think PT will be at third WR as a starter, I think Cheney is ahead of him. PT will get his fair share of passes don't get me wrong, I just think it's too close to call.

I hope to god you are right ENA/PT deserves his shot this year.

No he doesn't. The job should go to the best WR. Unless he pulls a Mark Bradley and we go, " Where has he been?", then Malcolm, Manuel, and Jaquian deserve the start.

Thats what I posted, im just rooting for the guy that played backup for 3 years, and redshirted for another for the benifit of the team.

I think we have 5 good wide recievers, 2 reliable wideouts and 3 that are too close to call. From what I saw and from my uneducated judgement Cheney and Thompson are a step ahead of Johnson in the spring training, although I will be the first to say that Johnson came up with more key grabs last season that these two combined.

But what do I know, im just a fan. ;)

thompson looked way better than both chaney and johnson during the spring game

johnson has alot of promise though but ill give the advantage to the veteran of the offense

kelly and thompson will start with iglesias getting a ton of time
and johnson rotating in alot imo

and im really a fan of jason carter - hes got some cover skills imo
id like to see him start along with nic harris
and i really dont want to ever see darien williams with 1v1 coverage

*fyi iglesias had nearly twice as many catches as johnson last year

spring game really doesnt matter, its how they do this summer basically. spring is to get young guys snaps, not a whole lot else

Thompson wont be starting imo, he will get tons of playing time but I dont see him being a big time reciever yet, its still too soon. Maybe he will prove me wrong but I dont see it

Egeo

thompson started 3 games last year at wr
the only returning players with more starts at wr were kelly and iglasias
kelly had 6 starts and iglesias had 4

i dont see thompson as a big time wr either - but he's probably at least our 3rd best wr
and should be by far the most knowledgeable wr concerning our offense

I don't think that who is starting at wideout is that important because OU will most likely use three wideouts as the base offense. I think that because OU is so deep at wideout and Coach Wilson has said that he didn't like the way the fullbacks played in the spring and that he doesn't mind just not having them on the field even though he is an I-formation type of guy. I believe Kelly will be the only reciever constantly on the field while Thompson, Iglasias, Chaney, and Johnson will be switching every few plays much like the defensive linemen.

I'm betting we take the FB out of most of our offense. We don't have a good enough one to warrant using a spot on the field for one.

On another note, apparently people are freaking out at how good Gresham is. Count me as one who will believe it when he sees it, but it's still interesting...
