The sad part is those poor creatures prolly still think they're fat.

It is a very disturbing disorder and it kills a lot of young women...mostly white ones. I wish caucasian women as a class could develop a better self-image psyche. You hardly ever hear of black, latina or asian girls suffering from this disorder.

OTOH, asian girls are prone to kill themselves over a B+.

My niece is almost 15 and she's beautiful. Like, model beautiful. Tall, thin looks like Keira Knightley...for real.

And she's been mentioning how 'fat' she is. I sat down with her and we talked about why she felt that way and stuff and I asked her to please be smart. She said she knew about those eating disorders and stuff and she wasn't doing anythng like that but I'm gonna keep my eye on her.

The whole thing just makes me sad.

Absolutely do that. Our daughter is 20 and wears size "0" jeans (wassup wid dat BTW?) anyway, she's perfect, but she worries she may have gained an ounce all the time. We never caught here with her finger down her throat but it is scary as chit.

PG complains about "size deflation" all the time. She says it's because girls that actually are fat might be offended by seeing a larger size number, so the size a number refers to keeps getting bigger. She complains that while she used to be able to find clothes that fit, now she tries on size "0" and they're too big.

And their innerweb in the new house isn't going yet, so I thought I'd post it for her. ;)

I know a girl who wears a "0" and she's totally calcium deficient . . . i can't tell you how many times she's broken bones. One time, she turned the door handle and broke her wrist!
