The screen on my PDA cracked. (my fault)
Can it be fixed, by whom, and how much?

..or am I doomed to buy a new unit?

Doomed, done, finito, terminada - find the closest garbage bin and go for the three.

Call customer service for the manufacturer and ask what the cost would be.
Odds are good that it is going to be cheaper (or very close anyway) to just replace it.
