They just built one at Hwy 9 and Chataqua in Norman. I haven't been inside the building. But, they have the fastest gas pumps I've ever seen. They're like super turbo pumps or something. It's awesome. The price is pretty much in line with most Norman places, too.

FYI, Normanistos.

So it's more like ripping the band-aid off quickly, rather than removing it slowly, huh?

Yeah, you're so much like, "Wow these are fast! Cool!" you don't realize the bill as much.

Ah...these are all over central Texas. Do they have the BBQ too? Their sauce has anchovies as a secret ingrediment.

I've been to the original Rudy's, which is in the Hill Country north of San Antonio. We did a 75 mile ride on a scooter rally, and had lunch there. It was awesome, in a "we're out in the country and don't have the same health department oversight as city folk" sort of way. Basically a crappy convenience store (the original is, anyway) attached to an awesome BBQ place.

The BBQ was all being prepared out in an open air area, covered by a tin roof or something. No screens, doors or anything. You que up cafeteria style with a tray, and they load it up with the fixin's of your choice. Ribs, sausage, etc. were really good, but the best part was the creamed corn and the cole slaw. The sides were incredible. As you were in line you pulled your drink (pop or longneck beer) out of a horse trough ice bath.

On a trip to Dallas a few months ago, I stopped at one of the new stores, on I-35 in Denton. The convenience store was much fancier, but the BBQ wasn't quite as awesome as at the original. Part of that could have been the ambiance, though.

But mark it down, I'll be giving the Norman location a try.

I was going to make some special bbq sauce, but I didn't have all of the ingrediments. :D

Dece place.

Haven't eaten at the Nompton location, but I have at others around tejas.

I do like the speedyness of the gas. You almost want to say, 'Thank you sir, may I have another'. ;)

There's one by my house. I eat there all the time. "Do you want the lean or extra moist brisket"? Extra moist, you idiot.

The only one I've been to is the North Austin one. Very tasty. With Big Red from the ice tub.

You don't say 'ingrediments' from time to time? :) It helps you blend in with the local yokels.

I remember when Highway 9 was the route to take when were trying to AVOID the cops. Don't even think about it now.
