I have never told a soul this.
Last year, during an online poker tournament, I won $650. I got in there winning a $5 satellite. Five bucks for 650. Not bad. I finished 14th. The winner got a free trip to Vegas and an entry into the WSOP Main Event.
Here's the thing. After 2 hours into the tournament, I fell asleep. I don't mean I dozed off. I totally zonked out. Six hours later, I woke up and I started to kick myself. Damn, I knew I had built up a nice chip count, but I lasted 4 hours of blinds and still finished in the money!
I really wish that I could have stayed awake. I could have played for a $7.5 million grand prize. I have never even come close to winning a big tournament ever since.
